A gay hairdresser with a thing for skinheads picks up an attractive specimen in the park, and as their relationship develops in the hairdresser's apartment, the skinhead's lesbian sister takes to the streets to make a guerrilla film about sexual revolution. Bruce LaBruce shot his 1993 debut feature (reportedly a favorite of Kurt Cobain's) on grainy black-and-white 8-millimeter, without direct sound, and it's amateurish in the best sense, the homemade aesthetic enhancing the characters' private obsessions. The hardcore sex scenes are playful in tone, recalling the gleeful exhibitionism of underground pioneers Jack Smith and George Kuchar, yet the conflation of fetishes and radical politics is pure LaBruce, anticipating his later provocation The Raspberry Reich (2004).

Director Bruce LaBruce.  70 mins, Rated X for explicit sexual content.
