JIM HALL: A LIFE IN PROGRESS offers music lovers the rare opportunity to witness a jazz great performing at the absolute height of his creativity.  Filmmaker Bruce Ricker alternates between vintage performance footage of Jim Hall playing alongside such greats as Sonny Rollins and Thelonious Monk while simultaneously exploring the creation of Hall's 1998 album By Arrangement. Additional interviews with both the artists and a variety of contemporaries including John Lewis, Joe Lovano, and Nat Hentoff provide poignant insight into the career of the humble Cleveland native's remarkable career, with insight into both Hall's personal and professional life showcasing a living legend whose remarkable music continues to endure and impress.
