Lutz Dammbeck: Art & Power

In September 2019, German director and media artist Lutz Dammbeck will be the artist-in-residence guest at the DEFA Film Library.

Amherst Cinema will host Dammbeck for a screening of his 2003 film, THE NET, which is free and open to the public.

Supported by the DEFA Film Library and German & Scandinavian Studies at UMass Amherst.

This documentary explores how modern technology influences social relationships, affects people’s minds and potentially replaces reality with virtual realities. It interweaves excerpts from an exchange of letters between the director and Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber, with interviews with leading American eyewitnesses. Director Lutz Dammbeck in person. Free and open to the public.
